NASA Guest: ISS Risk-Manager Michael Lutomski visits Ecuador

Students Skype chat with astronaut Michael Fossum.
NASA guest invitee, Mike Lutomski (the Risk-Manager for the International Space Station), generously gave of his time and energy to provide four days of workshops and presentations for staff and students, at both Academia Cotopaxi and Universidad San Francisco Quito in Ecuador.
"Get a Leg Up!" microgravity lesson.
Authentic learning.
He presented to engineering university students, coached little ones to "Train Like an Astronaut", gave Global Initiative Network students practical advice on sustainability, presented authentic learning in the "Get a Leg Up!" microgravity activity, built a solar system with elementary students, shared resources with faculty, and much more!

"Train Like an Astronaut" activity.
After meeting at the Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC) at the Johnson Space Center last spring, the goal of this collaboration was to inspire science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in students and teachers alike, and it went off with a bang...Mike rocked the house!

Wow! This sounded like a great visit! I'm sorry I missed it. I'll look forward to hearing from some of your students about their experience of this incredible opportunity.
Cheers!
